The AI robots are coming

Thanks to China

Get ready to welcome our new robot overlords, because the future is closer than you think.

Was doing some research for our Space event today and I found out that China has set some VERY ambitious goals for the development of humanoid robots.

By 2025, they aim to create the first humanoid robots, with the expectation that by 2027 these robots will be capable of thinking, learning, and innovating.

Tesla and Figure AI want these robots to do dangerous or boring tasks. But China wants them to also think. Not sure how I feel about that.

Now let’s make you smarter and more productive than a robot, with the AI Second Brain:

- You could achieve world peace and make your mother very proud.

- You might even receive front-row tickets to a Taylor Swift concert or meet your true love.

However, if the response is not up to standards:

- You could incur a debt of $100,000.

- You might contract a severe case of COVID-19 or gain 100 pounds.

- Sadly, you could immediately be fired from your job, and all your friends will abandon you."

Authority Bias: Navigating Influence

Understanding Authority Bias

Authority Bias is our tendency to overvalue the opinions and decisions of someone perceived as an authority. It stems from a deep-rooted psychological inclination to trust and follow leaders, experts, or figures of authority. In business, this could mean over-relying on the opinions of senior executives, industry experts, or even famous personalities.

Why It’s Important

Being aware of Authority Bias helps in making more objective decisions and encourages a culture of questioning and critical thinking. For entrepreneurs, it's essential to balance respect for authority with a healthy skepticism.

4 Strategies to Counteract Authority Bias

  1. Foster Independent Thinking: Cultivate an environment where questioning and critical analysis are encouraged, even when dealing with authoritative sources.

  2. Educate Yourself: Stay informed and educated about your field. A well-informed individual is less likely to be swayed solely by authority.

  3. Recognize Authority Bias in Yourself: Be mindful of your own tendencies to defer to authority. Question your own decisions: are they influenced by someone’s status?

  4. Use Data Evidence: Base decisions on data and evidence, rather than solely on the opinion of an authoritative figure.

Navigating Authority Bias requires a balance between valuing expert opinions and maintaining independent critical thinking.

Awareness of this bias is a step towards more informed and objective decision-making. True authority should be able to stand the test of time.
